Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and [LEGAL_NAME] (“we”) for using Wax Chapters: the Android app, this website and the guest pages. By using Wax Chapters you agree to them.

Using Wax Chapters

• You need to be an adult to create an account. You sign in with your Google account and are responsible for keeping your phone and account secure.
• Parents run a family: they add children, invite people and decide what goes into capsules and when they open. Invite only people you trust with your family's memories.
• Guests can leave a message through a party link without an account. These terms apply to them too.

Your content

• What you add stays yours. You let us store it, process it and show it to the people you've chosen, only so we can run Wax Chapters for you. That permission ends when you delete it, apart from copies in backups until they age out.
• Only add content you have the right to share, and think about the people in it.
• A guest's message is given to the family: by leaving it, a guest lets the family keep it and us store it for them.

Sealing and capsules

• We keep sealed items sealed until a parent opens the capsule on or after its day. A capsule set to open “when I decide” can be opened by a parent at any time.
• We keep sealed items closed ourselves; it isn't end-to-end encryption. The privacy policy explains what that means.
• Keep your own copies of what matters most. We work hard to keep everything safe for years, but we can't promise nothing will ever go wrong.

Acceptable use

Don't use Wax Chapters to:

• break the law, or harass, threaten or harm anyone;
• upload sexual content involving children, which we report to the authorities;
• spam families through guest links, or share someone's private information without their consent;
• try to get into other families' memories, get around our security, or overload the service.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.

Payments

• Wax Chapters is free to use. Premium is an optional subscription bought through Google Play; one person subscribes and their whole family has it. The price and any free trial are shown before you buy.
• Google Play takes the payment, renews the subscription until you cancel, and handles refunds under its own terms. Cancel any time in Google Play; Premium lasts until the end of the period you paid for.
• Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in Google Play first.
• Memories you've already made will never be locked behind a payment. Without Premium, a family keeps everything it has and can add up to the free limits shown in the app.

If Wax Chapters closes

We'll give at least 90 days' notice, a way to download everything, and open any sealed capsules early so nothing is lost.

Ending

You can stop using Wax Chapters at any time and delete your account in the app or ask us to (see Delete your account). We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Our responsibility

We provide Wax Chapters with reasonable care and skill, but “as is”: we can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of [LEGAL_COUNTRY]. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of your own country's law.
